Police shoot miner during protest

One of the miners at Fairview Mine had been shot by police, he told Barberton Times.

Sincobile Village protesters have shut down Fairview Mine, which is one of Barberton Mines.

This after the shutdown at Sheba Mine on Tuesday.

The strikers want job employment. Workers have been shot by police. All mines belonging to Barberton Mines are closed down today.

The worker, who did not want to be mentioned, said he had been shot in the thigh.

“I raised my arm to show that I’m innocent, but they shot me. They were police in uniform. I was here to feed my family. My phone was also damaged when I fell down. It was traumatising,” said the miner.
