Community members of Sheba Siding have blockaded the road leading to Sheba Mine since early this morning.
The residents are demanding to be employed at the mine, which is within their vicinity.
They also want the new human resources manager, Sello Mashabela, to be fired as he allegedly acted disrespectfully.
No buses are allowed to enter the mine to collect workers who reported for the morning shift.
The residents are also vowing that no buses will also be allowed to go and deliver them for the night shift, which starts at 18:00.
They forced trucks to offload sand to blockade it. Police have not yet arrived at the scene.
The mine management could not be reached for comment.
