Local club plans to start a photographic museum

Barberton Photography Club’s monthly meeting took place at Bosua and Cornelissen last Wednesday.
According to Lynette Spencer, the club secretary, the members enjoyed an exciting evening.

The club was asked by Sonia Cino and Gunther Botha from Elan Distributors to submit a few of its photographs so that they could be printed on canvas for the newly refurbished chalets at Hazyview Cabanas.

“Herman Bosua, Michele Evans and Amanda Bessenger submitted photographs and quite a number of them were selected. “The end products were brought to the meeting for the other members to see. They showed our amazing wildlife and landscapes,” said Spencer.
The selected photos will be taken to Hazyview Cabanas shortly for all to enjoy.

Later that evening Stephen Allen showed the club what was hidden in his bag.
He spoke about his Nikon camera, with discussions and laughter being shared among the members.

Bosua, Spencer and Sypie van Sittert brought along their old cameras and shared their histories.

Spencer has been collecting camera equipment for years. Some of the equipment was used by her grandparents and parents, while others were given to her by friends and relatives.
The club would like to start a museum for photographic equipment. If you have an old camera lying around, please donate it to the club for this exciting venture.
