Apologies to Mash Mokgatle and Jacques Lombard

Being from an anonymous source stating unconfirmed allegations, this letter was never to appear in this publication. This apology goes to Mash Mokgatle, one of the contestants and well-known media and marketing practitioner as well as to the organiser, Jacques Lombard.

We did, however, received a reply from Mr Lombard which we are publishing here in full to clear the matter. Hopefully this will do away with any misperceptions created by the letter last week.

It is practice at Barberton Times never to publish a letter from an anonymous source. Furthermore, letters of this nature are submitted to all parties involved for comment. In this instance neither of this was the case and by mistake the copy slipped through the cracks. Precautionary measures to prevent such a mishap  are in place, but this just goes to show that the nasty old printer devil will always be in our midst.

We always aim to maintain a proper personal as well as professional relationship with both Ms Mokgatle and Mr Lombard and to offer publicity where it is due to their worthy projects in our community. We would therefore not like this incident to serve as a breach of this relationship.
