SAPS need your help in murder case

The police are seeking assistance or information who could lead to the arrest of five suspects who brutally killed Peet van Es (55) during an attack at Moseley Farm on the R40 outside Barberton last week.

Two people were assaulted, Arine Prins, Van Es’ wife, and a family friend, Michael Watt. The suspects were armed and wearing balaclavas.

According to police spokesman, Sgt Gerald Sedibe, they need all the help they can get concerning the case.

The police are investigating a murder and housebreaking case.

A case of farm murder and house robbery has been opened.The suspects stole various electrical appliances including televisions, and loaded them into the victim’s silver Chevrolet Utility bakkie.

The vehicle was later discovered abandoned in Brander Street, Mbombela by Hi-Tech Nelspruit last Tuesday.

Dirk Bierman from Hi-Tech Nelspruit, said according to business employees in the area, it was likely abandoned there since the weekend. “A community member informed Hi-Tech Security and we rushed to the scene,” said Bierman.

“The police are still also investigating the matter of the stolen vehicle that was found abandoned,” said Sedibe.

Prins said before they killed her husband, she could hear him screaming, asking them not to kill him.”He told them to take anything they wanted, but that didn’t stop them.”
