Barberton players impress on all fronts

BHS faces Steelcrest High School.

Hoërskool Barberton recently played against Steelcrest High School in Middelburg.

They competed in netball, hockey and rugby.The netball first team won 20-11 and Eustancia Ngwenya walked away player of the match.

In hockey, Hoërskool Barberton’s u/14 team won 2-1 and Abigail Nkosi proved player of the match. The u/15s won 3-2, Faith Ndlovu gladly took home the title of the player of that match.

Their u/16 team won 2-1 and Lungelwa Qwabe stood out. Unfortunatly Ford’s first team lost 0-3, and the player of the match was Nothemba Shiba.

On the rugby front Barberton gave all they had yet the u/14 team lost 7-26 (Bandile Mabuza being player of the match).

The u/15 players won 17-0 though, with player of the match Cebo Shongwe showing the rest how it’s done. In the u/16, Barberton lost 10-22 and player to watch was Jean Pohl. The second team lost 10-22, the player of the match was Barend Venter.

Lastly the Electro Water first rugby team won 40-22, with Jason Afonso rising as player of the match.

The school would like to congratulate the teams and its dedicated players for their hard work and excellent performances.
