Interhouse athletics a great success

Hoërskool Barberton held an interhouse athletics meeting on Tuesday at the school.It was a fun-filled day for the learners as each class fought to be the best.

The grade nines were the winners of the day, grade eights (Daisies) took second place and the grade 11s took position three.

According to Lynette De La Rey, from Hoërskool Barberton, the interhouse athletics is also part of the preparations for the upcoming interhigh.

Banele Shabanga (u/15) was presented with the best junior girl trophy for her performances on track and field.

Teammate, Lindelane Maseko (u/15), topped the Absa point scale with 848 in long jump, while Lamar Bonini (u/15), got more than 800 points in the 100 metres.

The following learners are also trophy winners: Bandile Mabuza (junior victor), Paul Sevenster (senior victor), Amelia Chambers (junior victrix) and Corlia van der Merwe (senior victrix).
